Tax season is here, and you may be talking with your friends about the many changes in the tax credits for new home buyers that have been put into place recently.
We recently helped a young couple purchase their first home. They used their tax refund as their down payment, and were able to claim the tax credit on this year's tax return. We were also able to help a family that had sold their home in another state to relocate to Maryland. Although they had owned a home before, because they had been renting for a number of months, they still qualified for the credit.
These purchase might not have been possible for my clients without the Homebuyer Tax Credit. In todays market with the assistance of the stimulus package, the timing can be right for buyers who are aware of the opportunities.
